Northern BC Tourism is a regional destination marketing organization dedicated to promoting tourism and supporting local businesses across Northern British Columbia. Their mission is to enhance the visitor economy while empowering local communities with the tools and resources needed to advocate for the value of tourism in the region.
the Challenge
With a vast and diverse region encompassing multiple tourism organizations, Northern BC Tourism needed a cohesive and effective advocacy strategy that could be easily adapted and implemented across 13 different communities. They required a toolkit that would not only educate and engage local stakeholders but also empower them with the necessary resources to advocate for tourism’s economic and cultural impact.
Our Solution
Our team developed a comprehensive Local Advocacy Toolkit designed for phased deployment, focusing on education, engagement, and empowerment. Through extensive research, stakeholder consultations, and regional polling, we created over 30 customizable templates, including checklists, social media assets, government outreach materials, media releases, and community engagement tools. The result was a widely adopted, highly effective advocacy resource that strengthened stakeholder engagement, gained provincial recognition, and provided a long-term framework for local tourism advocacy efforts.
